Privacy

Orders, enquiries and website visits create different kinds of records. Read on to understand what those records may contain and how to raise a privacy concern.

Data used by the store

Information you provide can include your name, email, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, account details, order selections, messages and return records. Website use can also produce device, browser, network-address, page-visit and cookie information. We limit collection to what is appropriate for the stated purpose.

Website storage choices

Cookies and comparable technologies may maintain a session, remember a cart or help protect checkout. Non-essential analytics and advertising uses, if present, are governed by the required consent choices. Browser controls provide another way to manage storage, although some functions may then be unavailable.

Purposes and consent

Order fulfilment, customer support, transaction security and compliance are the main reasons for handling information. We explain other purposes before use and obtain meaningful consent where required. A decision not to accept optional marketing does not prevent a purchase.

Providers and transfers

Payment processors, delivery providers and suppliers of hosting or support services receive information needed for their functions. We require appropriate contractual or other safeguards. A provider may handle information outside your province or Canada, where local laws can permit access; ask us for details about a transfer. We also disclose information when legally required.

Security measures

Access to personal information is restricted according to the service need, with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. If a breach requires notification, we follow the applicable reporting rules. To help protect your information, use checkout for payment details and omit full card numbers and passwords from messages.

Retention and disposal

Retention depends on the purpose and legal obligations rather than an unlimited period. Order records may be needed for fulfilment, accounting, tax and disputes; support records are needed to complete and document assistance. We delete or anonymise information when those reasons expire and can explain the applicable period for your records.

Rights and complaints

You may request access to your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, and request withdrawal of consent or deletion where applicable. We may need proportionate identity verification and will explain any lawful limit, retention requirement or refusal. We respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law. Send requests to our contact email with a privacy-related subject. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, as appropriate. You do not have to give up that complaint route to seek help from us.

Canadian privacy framework

We apply the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act where applicable, together with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. The rules that apply depend on the activity and information involved, including interprovincial or international transfers. A material change in purpose will be explained and consent obtained where required.
